Embrace the holiday season by creating a winter wonderland right in your business and showcase your salon as a one-stop-shop for all your guest’s gift giving needs. There’s nothing better than finding the perfect gift when you were already doing your daily activities. Save your guests the trip to another location and present your universal gift offerings for all to see.

Every business is going to be different with the space they have available to display gift ideas out in the open. Ideally as much as you can put that is grab-ready near the checkout area, the better. To take your holiday sales to the next level, consider holiday window clings or postings at each station that say “Looking for the perfect gift? Ask our team about our universal products and gift cards.”

Here are some ideas to inspire promoting product and gift sales at your business:

Travel Sizes: Showcasing your travel sizes is great for two reasons. First, travel is a certainty of the holidays and no doubt your guests will be visiting far away relatives. Make sure they know they can keep up their look and color maintenance from the road with the travel sizes. Second, they make amazing stocking stuffers to introduce new products to people that maybe wouldn’t normally splurge on themselves.

Gift Certificates:
Present your gift certificate or gift card packaging with all sorts of holiday pizazz. Amp up the presentation by propping up the gift certificate or card, with the envelope and a service menu on a tray, then add some fluffy fake snow, sparkles, red ribbon or ornaments to make it pop.

Full Size Products: When it comes to beauty routines, people often have personal preference or needs regarding their daily products but there are likely some retail options that are good for many that you already carry at your business. Consider festively presenting with a red ribbon or atop a gift box some universal options such as lotions, nail polishes, dopp kit, lip balms, styling tools, styling aids or hair ties. If your suppliers have gift sets available, make sure those are displayed.

Gifts by Price or Demographic: Businesses that carry a large quantity, a wide variety and have the shelf spacing could do gift options by price to show options for $10, $25, $50 and $100+. Another way to present the items would be by who the gift is for, e.g. a straightening iron “for the fashionista” or a dopp kit “for the gentlemen.”

Gift Wrapping: Many salons already have bags for products which can be made festive for the season with some fun tissue papers, ribbons or bows. Grab some fun gift tags to offer when a guest purchases a gift too!

Pro Tip: The dollar store has a lot of great options and won’t break the bank.

Whatever your holiday shelf style may be, don’t forget to spread the holiday cheer throughout your business with decorations, music, scents, libations and cheer.
